Yale vs Deadlock — Which Lock Is Safer for Your Home in Royal Leamington Spa?

A standard Yale nightlatch — the familiar cylinder lock that opens with a spring latch — provides a low level of security on its own. The standard version can be opened with a credit card or similar flexible tool in seconds. This is not a hypothetical: it's a known vulnerability, and it's the reason I see so many forced entries across Royal Leamington Spa in homes that relied on a Yale lock alone.

Deadlocking Yale models (where you have to turn the key to deadlock the latch before leaving) are better — the latch can't be pushed back without the key. But even deadlocking Yale nightlatches are not considered insurance-approved on their own.
